Useful Information About TobagoLocated just off the coast of South America, the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago is at the southernmost end of the Caribbean islands. Trinidad is the cosmopolitan, commercial and industrial island and Tobago the quiet, sleepy little sister; the vacation playground for many Trinidadians. Getting Here There is also daily sea ferry service between islands, on two vessels. The M/V Sonia takes approximately 5 hours to complete the voyage which The Lynx does in 2½ hours. Tickets are TT$100.00/US$16.00 each way and must be purchased directly from the Port Authority in either Port of Spain, Trinidad or Scarborough, Tobago at least 2 hours prior to sailing time. Get more information about the ferry service from the Port Authority website. Currency |

Other Useful InformationGas stations are few and far between north of Scarborough so make sure you fill up before setting out on your explorations. An international drivers licence is not necessary, but drivers must be over the age of 25 to rent vehicles in Tobago. Remember, we drive on the left here. Electrical Current here is 110V/60 cycles, the same as that in North America, but voltage and socket configurations are different to those in the UK and Europe. There is a departure tax of TT100.00 payable at the airport after check-in. |
